Podcast Episode
This episode was part of a podcast series called Keeping Education on Track: COVID Edition which can be found at Keeping Education on Track: COVID edition • A podcast on Anchor. I spoke with headteacher David Phillips about his experience of leading a secondary school through a pandemic and the numerous lockdowns.
Radio Documentary
This radio documentary that I created was centered around the continuous issue of homelessness in Leicester and what help there is out there for people in need. I went along to one of the feeding nights at the Haymarket in Leicester and spoke to a handful of volunteers and homeless people to hear their stories.
Radio Presentation Sequence
The chosen topic for this project was plastic surgery. With a continued increase of cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures being performed, I found it interesting to investigate how we as a society feel about having these types of procedures done and why. The four-minute radio presentation sequence incorporates live presentation within a studio, and playouts of pre-recorded inserts in the form of voxpops and a single interview.
Radio Segment
This segment was produced for an assignment at University and rewarded me woth a first-class piece of work. The requirements stated I must produce a 3-minute radio news and current affairs package suitable for broadcast on a BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat programme. I also had to ensure the segment adhered to media law, Ofcom code and met broadcast standards such as the levels and quality of the audio. The chosen topic for this piece surrounds the issues of period poverty within the UK and how this impacts young women.
